Care Corner Photo Journal - Volume 3
As part of our World Explore program we spent November traveling through North America. We made an extra long stop in New York City because this teacher fell in love THE city when Joey lived there for 6 years. I am a country girl who grew up around farms, fields and only ventured to Lansing a couple of times a year. I have no business loving NYC...but I do. So I love teaching the kids because there are so many things there they are already familiar with...Statue of Liberty, Central Park, Brooklyn Bridge...and Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and the Rockefeller Christmas Tree. Today was our last day visiting NYC and we read a special Christmas story about the Rockefeller Christmas Tree. I will put away the New York City books, blocks and post cards...but for some kids a seed has been planted and someday they, too, will want to be a part of it...New York, New York.
