Care Corner Photo Journal – Volume 2

Thirty-one names. Thirty-one names on my class list for this year. Thirty-one first graders will walk through my classroom door tomorrow. It’s not every day you get to meet 31 new friends and their families. Tomorrow I will get to do just that. Tomorrow they will come to Care Corner and it will be their home away from home this whole school year. There are days I will get to see them more than their parents do. So a classroom has to feel like home. It has to be a place of learning…but it also has to be a place of comfort, a place where they feel safe to take a risk, a place where they feel loved. Thirty-one kids is a really big class. It’s a big job. It’s a special job. And it starts tomorrow when they walk through that door and I get to say “Welcome home.”
